This Tuba Tuesday the Museum features a Lidl, BB flat tuba, 4 rotary, c.1950.

“JOSEF / LIDL / MANUFACTURER / OF MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS / BRNO / CZECHOSLOVAKIA” on seal on bell.

Bell is 23 1/8″, bore of .825″ & height of 41 1/2″.

“No problem. I’ll make a longer tuning slide.”

“That wasn’t enough. Now what?”

“Don’t worry, I’ll just put this baby sousaphone bell flare on the bell stack.”

“Ah, much better.”
