Conn 36j with new Fafner Bell, new leadpipe and 4 new valves

Post by Kontrabasstuba »

Selling my Conn 36j Bb tuba. It is equipped with a new Melton Fafner bell, a new leadpipe (both by master Stepahn Schmidt from Markneukirchen) and 4 new valves (master Hubert Kain). It is absolutely dense and has a super big, dark, round and warm tone. Intonation is easy to do! Great instrument with great sound characteristics.

Height: 97cm
Bell Ø: 46 cm
Bore: 20mm

Price is 3600 USD or 3700 Euro

Shipping possible and no problem.
International bidders are welcome!

For questions, just let me know!

Yeah, we're going to need a sound check on that, Daniel. :)

So this is a different one than the converted 36J that has gone around over here for a few years pst famously with Tony Kniffen)?

Beautiful. I’d imagine it sounds as good as it looks.

What a job to make new pistons for existing casings. I would love to see how that is done.

Awesome horn!

I just wish Conn had adopted the same idea Holton had around the same timeframe regarding slides.
