towards convincing musical expression/phrasing

I’m actually wondering if studying with a really good acting/drama coach/teacher would improve this aspect of musicianship as much as anything would.

I’m thinking in terms of some of the incredible musical Broadway performances (acting combined with singing) - that I have witnessed.

I wonder if really good acting coaches - who understood some things about music - would be willing to listen to musicians play their solo pieces and orchestral excerpts for them.

Am I being dumb?

I certainly don't see any harm in it. This is an astute train of thought.

The more you get out of your bubble, the better. The "tuba bubble" is admitted small and very, very limiting when compared with the broad range of musical and artistic experiences one can enjoy and take something from.
