Would those be considered "Pops"-rivets?

It even has a cage to keep your pet birds safe inside the bell.

Well, I can, stretching the envelope, consider the wire mesh. But rivets?

I'd probably go on strike, too...

It had to be a display piece or something, right?
Like a part of signage or a wall hanger or something.
Right?
It looks like it had something riveted to the body (notice the holes) which could have held it in place. The brass is also shinier in those spots.
If it were closer and about $600 cheaper I would buy it.

Maybe the owner had a problem with bats in his bell(-fry).

Just didn't want any good notes escaping the horn.

The sousas in my middle school (6-8th grade) that lived semi-permanently on chair-stands that you sort of had to limbo in and out of had removable metal grates right around the tenon, to try and keep out the inevitable balls of paper and crap that would have otherwise ended up in the horns.
Basically these as I recall, though no idea if Feree's was the ones making them back then (mid 80's).
