I've mentioned that towards the end of 1977 when I played my required recital to graduate, I went to this man's house the day before my recital so that we could run through the Paul Hindemith Tuba Sonata the one and only time before we performed it the next day. He played it flawlessly (and Incredibly musically) both that time through and on the next night (at the recital). I really don't think he'd ever played it before. That was 45 years ago, and decades ago/afterward he was drawn away to teach at Indiana University. I'm not even sure whether he has piano students, as he's always been a composition professor.
I haven't looked around YouTube to see if he's got any Bach on there, but if he does I would recommend listening to it.
