tuba player, minister, good guy
We lost him way too soon.
Let's remember Michael Bush, today.

Re: Let's remember Michael Bush, today.
RIP Michael. Today would have been his 59th birthday. We were both products from Kentucky. He was one of Skip Gray's first students, and I was one of his last before he moved into administration and eventually retired.
I bought a few tubas from him over the years and chatted with him frequently about our shared experiences at UK and life in general.
A wonderful, extremely intelligent guy. He had moved back to KY when he passed away and was ministering in Versailles (Kentucky pronunciation: vur-sales... also home of Woodford Reserve bourbon, if that rings a bell), at the Pisgah Pike Church, which is a beautiful church from the 1800s in the middle of horse country.
I had moved to CT by the time we connected, so unfortunately I was never able to meet him in person.
Just a great guy. I was thinking about him the other day, too. Gone way too soon. Thanks Joe.

Re: Let's remember Michael Bush, today.
I don't mean to be insensitive, and I feel horrible to ask this, but did this just happen, or did it happen a while ago? (I thought a while ago...?)
I remember having some nice exchanges with him. I think that he had briefly owned my old Rudy 4/4, having bought it to mess around with it and see what it was like before sending it along its way to someone else. I found that very relatable.
I didn't realize that he was so young here

Michael passed away in 2017. I thought I remembered reading about his passing away years ago, so Bort's comment below caused me to look it up.
