For sale is my nearly-stock single valve Elkhart Conn 72H bell section. I would describe it as utility grade; it has a few dents here and there, but nothing major and nothing that affects how it plays. A previous owner added a stop rod so that you can quickly pull to bE without worrying about accidentally yanking the slide all the way off. Based on the stop rod and the unlacquered tuning slide, this may actually be my second time owning this specific bell section.
While it's not a looker, it plays great! Classic Conn commercial bass trombone sound and response, perfect for those old big band charts, George Roberts ballads, and certain orchestral rep. Sadly, those things have not been in my gigging schedule for a long time now and my daily driver 2-valve Elkhart 72H can do them just as well anyway, so this bell section has sat and sat since I bought it 2 years ago. Time to move it on!
I'd like to get $400+shipping for it, and am happy to do a local sale in the Los Angeles/Orange County area.
