Tuba for sale!!

Pictures at the bottom.

I am selling my Andreas Eastman EBB623 5/4 BBb tuba since I switched to CC tuba a while ago and I am trying to finance an F tuba. This tuba plays extraordinarily well with good intonation and a full sound. Like seriously, this tuba sounds GOOD. If you are a middle or high school tuba player looking to buy a tuba, this plays a lot better than the typical kaiser style tubas
that are common in public schools and has the potential to get a much bigger sound.

This tuba is very similar to the Miraphone Model 91 and is described as being “Germanic” on the Eastman website. This is something that is definitely true as the build quality is very good and the sound is rich. Eastman tubas sometimes get a bad rep for being made of really thin brass to save costs but this thing is rock solid. There are no big dents in it not because I was super careful, but because this thing is built like a tank. All the slides move freely and the rotors rotate quickly and quietly with excellent alignment.

I got this tuba brand new in 8th grade so as you can imagine, there are dings and scratches here and there. However, they are purely cosmetic and do not affect the playability or tonal characteristics. The tuba had its leadpipe and bell repaired by Martin Wilke which is the cause for the absence of shiny lacquer on the midsection and the leadpipe. The leadpipe actually became separated from the bell due the soldering joint failing but it was repaired to be stronger than it was originally.

Brand new, this model goes for a little over $7000 and I am asking $4900 for it. I may be willing to negotiate some but this is an excellent price for the amount of tuba that you are getting. It also comes with an admittedly ugly, but functional case. No shipping as that is too risky. I am located in Louisville, Kentucky.

With this tuba, I have enjoyed many successes with it like being accepted into All state bands 3 times in a row since 9th grade, the Kentucky Governor’s School for the Arts, and numerous other regional awards/groups. Here is a link to watch some recordings of me playing this horn that prove its excellent playing qualities: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sp=sharing

This horn really means a lot to me and I am sad to see it go but I want to give someone else the same opportunity I had to do great things with it.
