Just a trailer, but some really fine playing from
@edfirth. I hope he doesn't mind me sharing and I can remove if needed. I found this video about seven years ago and recently rediscovered it. I posted it back then on the old forum, and figured it was worth reposting now. Nice job Ed! Great stuff all around.

Ed's one of the great players - who plays just enough, not too much, and nothing that's wrong. He also (admirably) doesn't step all over the pianist's left hand.
George Ryan (who lead the band I was involved with - "hosting" the festival) brought this band up to his jazz festival in Memphis - one year - back in the early 80's...really great stuff...and (if I'm remembering correctly...??) George also brought Connie and his band up the same year. After that - if I was messing around in Sacramento between sets (as we had the luxury of a van carrying my bass and tuba, at that festival) - and saw that either of those bands were playing (right then) at some venue, I'd ABSOLUTELY stick my head in the door (this: in spite of likely "dixieland burnout").

I was lucky enough to take a few lessons back in the 90s with Ed to get an idea of what an everyday pro sounds like. Fantastic player in any genre and lover of Schlitz Malt Liquor. I bet he’s still a great person to go see for a lesson even though he’s likely enjoying his retirement.
Good times!
