She doesn't (yet) sound like Dennis Brain, Barry Tuckwell, nor her Dad, but she's only a middle school kid, so...
(
phone microphone recording made from laptop speaker output - it is a "fb friends only" reel )
...If you look down at the bottom long enough, you'll figure out how to turn on the sound.

She's getting a lot of help from her dad - who is a virtuoso level player, and from her grandma, who has turned out a long list of such players via her teaching.
More importantly though, she's an incredible go-getter.
(A couple of years ago, she told her dad that she was going to take his job.)
She's one of those weirdos who excel at most any endeavor (all academic disciplines, sports, etc., etc.)...and possess remarkable attention to detail.

Since she is learning at such a young age, hopefully the perfection thing doesn't cause her to try to achieve things out of her range, which is what led to problems for me. If she gets thrown into a situation where she feels she has to compete against people with far more experience than she has, that is when problems could occur. Being with them is not the problem; it's competing with them that is.

Release the hounds!
You just reminded me of Hogan's Heroes, where the guard dogs at the prison camp loved all of the American prisoners, and hated the German soldiers.

As to my granddaughter, so far she is competed with children that are older than her who were chosen due to their age. Her mother explained this stuff to her... the fact that such groups are age limited, and those who place the children in chairs try to give the oldest ones more chances, because they will soon not be eligible anymore.
