Hi Folks,

Looking to sell my Hirsbrunner HB-50. I purchased this instrument in 2014 from Bob Tucci when I was getting my undergrad at IU, and have been the only owner since then. I just can't justify keeping it anymore as I don't play it enough, and would rather it go to someone that's actually going to use it than have it collect dust here.

I got the chance to play a lot of different instruments during my undergrad, and I was never able to find one that I enjoyed as much as this one. It's a fantastic horn, plays well throughout all registers, and has an amazing dark/powerful sound. Great for all applications from a full orchestral setting all the way down to small groups.

Overall the instrument is in great condition, it has a couple of small dents/dings, but nothing that affects the sound.

Link to some audio/pictures of the horn: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sp=sharing

Asking price is $11500 or Best Offer, and includes the following:
-Meili Hard case with wheels/interior straps
-Perantucci Supersack Gig-Bag
-Schlipf "Vienna" Straight Mute

The instrument is currently located in Detroit, MI. Willing to ship, but buyer pays the cost. Am also willing to travel a reasonable distance for anyone seriously interested.

Not looking for any trades, only want to sell outright.

I don't think my account is old enough to PM yet, so you can contact me at timstrycula@gmail.com

I had the chance to try this horn out yesterday side by side with Roger Lewis' Yorkbrunner, and it was an awesome experience! This horn is in amazing condition, and it had a much more accessible high register. Die Meistersinger would be a breeze on this. Roger's horn seemed to be a better fit for me, but it was close. My friend came to lend an ear agreed that Roger's was better for me, but we also agreed that he sounded better on the horn listed here for sale. These handmade tubas can be very dependent on the player.

In short, this is a great horn that someone will be very happy with.

Bump for price drop to $11.5k, if you're looking for a 5/4 or 6/4 CC it's going to be hard to find better value than this.

Really looking to sell as soon as possible, please don't hesitate to reach out with any inquiries!

This is a GREAT deal. I’d buy this over any Chinese copy any day of the week. Had I not purchased that Tuono I’d be all over this tuba.

I can't remember the last time I saw one of these for sale to be honest. It's been at least a few years, and I think the person about that spent a while looking for it.

Not my sound, not my style, damn it I would still love to have it. Lol
