Doesn't quite look it to me. I had an old 60s/70s original 46 and it was surprisingly small with a very small bell. This looks like the frame of the later (80s?) MW45.

Is that a second valve trigger?
(Reminding myself that I don't need another F tuba until I get better with the one I already have)

Yup, a second valve trigger.

The quint valve is interesting. I always forget what the lay down for those lower fingerings will be, but Iā€™m guessing having some throw on the slides is useful.

This is the old model "Walter Hilgers" and you need a 2nd slide trigger for the new quintvalve combinations in the lower register. It's a good sounding tuba, but you need a strong ear! Bore sice is 19.5 to 20.5 mm.
