Thus Sprach Arnold Jacobs

I just received my copy of the book about Arnold Jacobs,”Thus Sprach Arnold Jacobs.”. I am just curious about the cover photo, did he have the lead pipe extended or is that the way the York,(I believe he played a York CC Tuba, correct me if I am wrong.).

if you go back and look at that ridiculous picture of me with the Nirschl York you'll see what appears to be the same leadpipe.

I'd wager as much as $6.32 that the tuba pictured is not the Donatelli York C tuba.

Another question, has anyone used Conn tuning bits on an 80J series tuba, and if so, what results has anyone had with tuning bits?
