My latest project

To preface: This thing is a *complete* POS.
I acquired this tuba for FREE through a good friend of mine a year or two ago. It's an old (VERY small) Pan-Am 3v Eb. It is very old. And very much a POS. So, here I am jumping on the old 3v Eb train!
HOWEVER: This is a great opportunity for me to dig into some repair techniques without fudging up my very nice stuff. That is the entire reason I keep the horn. It's been on loan to a friend for quite some time as they had no access to a tuba, but wanted "something" to fart around on. They have since acquired a monster Eb and no longer needed my POS. That's why you haven't heard about it
Anyway, you will notice a bunch of tape on it. It leaks. A lot. The valves, however, are in pretty good shape. Most of the solder joints have been messed with pretty poorly in the past and a lot of them leak. I figured, again, this will be a fun "let's make this thing work better" project.
Solder joints, leadpipe, body connections, they all will benefit from re-soldering. As I attempt and document this stuff, I hope you will enjoy following along, mistakes and all. I will have fun and learn.
*If you'd rather this move to the repairs thread, and you can move it, please do. I thought an introductory post here would suffice as I jot my thoughts down.*
