Mack Brass Tuba TU410
4/4 sized, Miraphone copy
A few minor dents in the bell and some wear and tear in the finish on the bow below the bell.
Comes with a nice case with wheels as well.
I had the rotors notched (Mack Brass does not do this) with Chris Roush back in the summer of 2021 where I traveled from Mid- Michigan to Tennessee.
Asking $2,000, and am willing travel a few hours to meet up, but I am in the Mid-Michigan area. No shipping, please. It has had regularly cleanings and chem baths since through Marshall Music in Lansing, Mi. I have recordings of the horn if you are so interested. Thank you

You do realize that a brand new one of these is now going for $2295?

Yes! I’m willing to negotiate. This is just a starting price, but I did spend an addition 350 on rotor notching as well. That’s why I have it priced this high at the moment!

What was involved when having the valves notched?
Yea, so Mack Brass does not notch their rotors which helps when replacing the rubber stops and aligning the rotor casing in the valve casing of the horn. I spent and additional 350 on this to add some value to the horn. But as I mentioned before, I am willing to talk prices! This 2,250 was just an estimate giving from an appraisal.

But any extra "value" is taken away by the fact the horn has dents in it and there is a huge patch of lacquer gone.

Sounds like y'all uns are free to make an offer. I'm not interested, so I see no point in kickin' another man's dog.
Good luck with your sale!

They're kicking his dog because he's trying to find a rube to pay more than it's worth.

So here is a picture of the backside of the 3rd valve of my Mack 410, bought in 2016. Witness marks are clearly visible from the factory. They are not big, but they are there. as far as I am concerned the only way to make sure your valves are indexed is to use a bore scope.

Among other things, I'm a professional brass tech. That someone would ask $350 to stick a borescope up a valve section in order to make a few marks is just embarrassing. Yikes. That's a 15 minute job.
