OK, I'm gonna ask the stupid question because that's what I do best.
What would be the difficulty in using this bell in a 20K sousaphone? Would it work to make a raincatcher? Would the intonation be acceptable?

I don't know but I think I need to try it out! Will be helping the band director at the local high school with replacing bumpers on their St. Petes next week. Will test on their sousas and report back.
