Happiness is...

...the last finishing touch on a newly-acquired older no-cracks/good wheels vintage Jakob Winter (if new, a $1400 CASE, shipping incl. → https://www.wwbw.com/J-Winter-JW-2089-9 ... 00000.wwbw ) ,

which is FOUR "ideal" (though not oem) CASE FEET (all of which were missing from the case) on eBay for $7 for the four new case FEET (postage included) and it only taking about three minutes (with the pop rivet gun - using special "peel" rivets) to install them...NO problems/NO issues and the rivets fit BOTH the new feet AND the original holes in the case cortex - where the original feet were located. These feet (as attached) are VERY snug, and feel like integral parts of the case.

(This is - finally, after looking for many months - my F tuba hard case (albeit just a little-bit-too-large - as it would also would fit a 186 or 188).
I still have an array of Cronkhite-made bags, but they're hanging overhead (on a rack in the master bath suite) in the event that I become one of those where "ten pounds less to carry" makes a difference.)

bloke "life's simple pleasures...CASE FEET !!!! :smilie7: "

"Waiting to have a good protective HARD CASE - for this instrument" - has been my "excuse" to put off picking over any small dents/bumps, shining it up, and shooting some new clear on this tuba.

(Most of the small dents and bumps have been when IN one of my pricey/deluxe/top-grade USELESS bags... :gaah: )

I had also decided to convert to Minibal links at the same time but - well... - that stuff is more handsome and more expensive, YET not as good as - plastic Dubro links. :teeth:
