Does anyone have an estimated value for a 3 valve Conn 34K raincatcher Sousaphone? I can't find any that have been sold to base an insurance value on. It plays very well and has quite the back story to it.

Is this a BBb instrument?
If so, depending on condition, you’ve got something.
Upper end probably $2,500-$3,000 depending on the buyer, and, again, condition (I.e. not leaky valves, good shape finish, whether silver or lacquer, minimal denting, etc). Used, good condition 38K and 20K sousaphones near me in IL seem to be in this range.
Lower end. $1,000-$1,500 this is assuming leaky valves, dented up, worn finish, in need of a lot of work to be playable.
At least, that’s what I would pay.

@brucevalenti70, I’d suggest reaching out to Dillon Music or Baltimore Brass (or similar “tuba shops”) that might have an idea at what they would price one at as well as provide an appraisal value.
Appraisal values can be quite high. For instance, I’d probably set my 2165 at a much higher figure than what it’s for sale for since replacing it isn’t just a simple transaction.

Thanks. Yes it is a BBb and It plays well but needs cosmetic work. It was used as yard art tied to a lamp post(got hit by a car) and as an outdoor sign before I rescued it. I will check with the shops you mentioned, I know it is a fairly rare instrument and replacing it would be tough.
