Thank You, Voigt Brass

Post by Sousaswag »

Everyone,

I was successful in procuring a thumb ring from our friends over at Voigt in Germany, even though I'm not a repair person. The total cost was around $120 US. Shipping was a killer! $45! For ONE part! Wow!

Anyway, here it is. When I put it on the horn I'll update again.

If you find a comfort spot, congratulations, but - if you don't - consider having your repair guy up there cut the ring off and re-braze it onto that cranky thing at a 45° angle.

Great choice! I love Jurgen Voigt components and have their thumb rings on two of my horns. I use the one with the ring 90º from how yours is oriented.

I appreciated how easy it was to get ahold of them. SO MUCH EASIER than Buffet. Better to go direct to the manufacturer than the "distributer," if you will.

Great communication, great customer service, and a great price on the part itself. Were I to order from them again, I'd order more stuff to make that shipping cost more worthwhile.

As seen, Wade's is put together differently and IS able to be turned at a 45 degree angle.

...I'm hoping you'll like it as it is, and won't have to have your cut/altered.

PM me. I may have that base rod that differs between our two rings. I needed the ring for something else, so I have the feet, grub screws, and the rod in my photo.

Yours for the price of postage.

(Probably around ten bucks.)
