my "repair" life

My "main gig is supposedly (??) repairs and sales...

...but this is more typical than not:

bloke, we need to to rehearse "1812" twice today and play it tomorrow night. We also need to you play a school concert tomorrow before lunch.

From a high school NEAR tomorrow's school concert, yesterday we picked up some "oh - btw - we found that we ALSO need these last few things to be fixed before the summer", so TODAY (BEFORE the first 1812 rehearsal and BETWEEN the 1812 rehearsals - IF I can make it back out to blokeplace with enough time to make it worth my while - I'm going to attempt to hustle out the c. $6XX of add-ons, and get those delivered/billed TOMORROW, before the elementary school show.

I was SUPPOSED to be working on fixing up a nickel OTS E-flat tuba, that someone is extremely eager to purchase from us...

depends on whether-or-not common core...

...also depends on the intensity of the rehearsals, which (incl. performance) could possibly involve a total of 1812 notes.

I only got two of the five instruments (which I hope to drop off tomorrow morning repaired at the high school near the elementary school where I am playing) before I had to get cleaned up to rehearse, but I'm going to do a late night tonight before tomorrow's elementary school thing, so the other three instruments are going to be late night repairs. Three more things are parts that they need, and thankfully I have those... Luckily, I had a set of Conn silver sousaphone bits, some JP valve guides, and - believe it or not - a Yamaha mellophone second slide assembly. I did find something to do between the two rehearsals in downtown Memphis this afternoon and this evening:
If you've looked in the vendors forum, we just sold a JP baritone saxophone to a high school, and I realized that the band director's home is only thirty minutes south ( in MS) of downtown Memphis - versus driving from blokeplace to that school for an hour and fifteen minutes one way, so I took it with me today to the rehearsal, and dropped it off at the band director's home between rehearsals, so at least I got something done which was otherwise going to take up a lot of time. Also important is that I can bill for it (since it's now delivered), as this is one of those "net 45" school systems.
