Looks like maybe is has reattachment issues…
Which probably isn’t a big deal and could be cleaned up some.

Neat to see the silver/upright bell/tuning mechanism in this one.
With the upright bell, these things are so absurdly tall!

It appears to be missing the thin ring (not the tenon) that is the normal transition between the bell flare and stack on these Reynolds upright bells. To my eye it almost looks like this might have been fabricated out of a different bell?
Overall it's been rode pretty hard, but there's definitely worse out there. I checked with the seller, and this is a Cleveland-made horn. If anyone's thinking of bidding.

Hard for me to see what's going on there. I've seen bell rings in this position on Reynolds tubas, in photos - more often the smaller tuba - but not often, like it was a short lived feature, and didn't know if it was a joint or what. Is it just a skimpy sleeve over a solder joint? Or does it fit in between the two bell pieces? This one has a pretty un-smooth joint inside.
Assuming the bell was joined like that from the factory, I would half expect bell repairs to come out like this, at the hands of someone who was not a real expert at it. The joint would come apart to fix dents etc., and if the bell ring is damaged ...
