As an old guy (who has been playing for about 55 years and selling for about 45 years), the pattern of used instrument pricing is always the same:
It starts out high (when the "new model" chatter is still high) and drops as the amount of "new model" chatter becomes less.
The models that impress me are the few that (whether I personally view them as "good") tend to (assuming condition, obviously) hold their used values throughout the years or even decades
