Had I spent much time with a JP379B, I probably - as a dealer - would have snatched up a demo (show display) and added a fifth rotor - rather than building the compact Holton.
They don't look the same at at (and - ok - the sound is subtly different), but they function (for a working tuba player) in the same way...and both offer easy tuning.
