Up for sale is my Adams F tuba that I purchased in the Spring of 2022. I am the second owner of this horn, and it has served me well in orchestras, solos, auditions, and a LOT of chamber music. This is about as point-and-shoot an f tuba as I have played, and the low register is fantastic. This horn was sold to me with only the Solo leadpipe, so I had a new PH1 leadpipe bent and moved up on the bell to sit a little taller. This drastically improved the low register of the horn as well, in my opinion. I have the original lead pipe and will include it with the sale, however, I have not had it altered to the same height as the PH1 at this time. Any good technician should be able to adjust this in the future. In addition, I have added a Saturn key to the MTS, and vented the first valve. There is only one small ping in the bottom bow and an even smaller ping in the first branch, I can take extra pictures if need be. There are a few small imperfections in the bell that I cannot even capture on my phone. The only reason I want to sell this horn is to switch to rotors, as I have found I prefer them over the years. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
I am open to offers, but no trades, as I know what horn I am switching to already. Thanks everyone!

Horn comes with an Adams soft bag, 2 leadpipes (smaller would need to be adjusted to fit the new height of the new leadpipe), and is located in Wichita, KS. I am willing to drive a reasonable distance for a serious buyer.

So this is the horn that Kevin did the leadpipe work to. Nice! It ought to sell quickly.

Can you post a list of the parts needed to build the PV1 leadpipe? (I think it is just three pieces, but am not sure.) Also, could you PM me the contact info for where you got the parts? My Adams also only came with the small leadpipe; I really want the larger one, too.

If you don't have this at hand I can always contact Kevin directly — but when I asked some time back (I think) he said you came to him with the parts, just needing him to do the grunt work.

Best of luck with the sale.

Yep, Kevin did phenomenal work on this, really opened up the sound and gave this horn some extra oomph. I don’t have the part numbers on me, but I called the kind folks at Austin Custom Brass in KC and it was a very simple process. You might contact Kevin first anyway, as he had thoughts to make the process even easier.
