I vaguely remember seeing a piece of music that had the instruction "strike the tuba bell with your mouthpiece". I want to say it was from the 1970's.

If you add a fifth valve, it would be cool for it to have interchangeable slides for the most common fifth-valve tunings.

When Miraphone first released the Hagen, the tuba only had four valves. Miraphone said that a fifth valve was not necessary. Well, Miraphone now makes Hagens with five valves. A band I'm in is playing a suite of music from Star Wars: The Force Awakens . Paul Lavender is the transcriber. The tuba part for the third movement, Scherzo for X-Wings is missing. What about an English baritone or a German Kaiser baritone. Similar to a Wagner Tuba, but uses a trombone-sized mouthpiece and could rest on a chair.
