Bump for bottom line price cut. Given the repairs that BBC did, I cannot go below this number.
The horn may not be cosmetically perfect, but it is a player!

Re: WTB Miraclone $1000

Flat freakin' broke and they have decent pitch and make a solid sound in the right hands. I am completely tubaless since this weekend and have two concerts coming up but may be able to borrow one. Same reason why my 53rd birthday present to myself was a used Vostok Amphibia and not a Rolex ...

WTB Miraclone $1000

Anyone out there selling a Miraclone 186 wannabe for $1000 max? Even better if in the greater TN/KY/AL area to avoid shipping.

Re: attn: music theory stuff-knowers

In particular, Paul was "into" things. He wasn't a "classical music aficionado", but he was exposed to it and spent time listening to it. In a video, a "Gary" guy discusses using this Bach lute Bourrée (one off the first pieces that all of us nylon string guitar peeps learned) as an inspiration for ...

Re: Nashville, TN (FB): Conn BBb $2,400

I was hesitant to post it here because shipping is not an option; I am in the Nashville TN area and willing to drive a little. My beloved Mitsching project was damaged and required some rebuilding after arriving at BBC, fortunately the shipper compensated us and that horn is now better than ever ...

Perhaps the best execution of this concept was TUBA! A Six-Tuba Musical Romp put together by Gerhard Meinl in 1992.

Martin Mammoth. The 3 upright piston models have surprisingly good intonation and very usable false tones. More sound than you will ever need but very agile.

Anybody remember "Will Harvey's Music Construction Set"?
It came out in the early 80's and I remember using it to transcribe a Bari Sax part on my Atari 800 because my 6th or 7th grade self couldn't wrap my head around changing the clef, key signature, and accidentals.

Horn is at Baltimore Brass and price has been cut to $4000. Includes Altieri gigbag. They have replaced the leadpipe and mouthpiece receiver with something more professional than my home-bent version.

I'm still waiting for your 6/4 B Natural tuba for the audition circuit. When the cloners get a hold of it, it will be named "Ride."

Re: Best do-it-all CC tuba that isn't 186/188

I always seem to prefer bigger over smaller, so this it what I found: a nearly century old Conn BBb that would be considered 4/4+ It is similar in size to a 4/4 Nirschl or PT606/GR41 but with a little more bell - 20" with a constant flare to the end, no pancake; it is bigger than a 56J/G50. This is ...

@Tubajug, great spot, the leadpipe is removable! It's very nifty. I remember reading that some of these came with 2 leadpipes from the factory, though I only have the 1. It does make cleaning really easy though! I had the 2nd loop added circa 1990. Foolish ute that I was, I naively asked the ...
