Re: back to Bach
Interesting, thanks! If I had never listened to Roger Bobo, I would never have been aware of some of the things that the tuba could even do, but I can see the benefit of encouraging self-exploration.

Re: back to Bach
Listen and listen to more, just not pieces you’re working on while you are working on them.

Re: back to Bach
I've been pretty bad about listening lately, because my headphones were so crappy, I was so cheap that I didn't want to pay for some nice ones, and I've mostly been listening to Pieces as homework for gigs and that's been the limit of it, but a friend just gave me some really nice Sony headphones that were actually my favorite model with broken hangers, and I've got a pair of replacement hangers for them coming from China for a really low price. Just holding up the earpieces to my ears with my hands makes me smile, because I will be back to having some really incredibly great headphones again. I've got a really nice vintage system with a lot of wattage out in the main room, but I just don't feel like hooking all that stuff up. The receiver is a Radio Shack power behemoth.. Realistic - if anyone remembers that brand that they used, and it's in perfect working order...transistor.
