JW York & Sons BBb Tuba--**SOLD**
Serial # 79706 JW York & Sons--three valve side-action. There is plating wear in the usual places for a 100 year old horn, but no major dents. Main tuning slide inside diameters are .785--.810". Bell diameter is 22-1/2". Large, rich York sound. This is a Big Horn! Leadpipe takes the original mouthpiece (provided) I think the shank size may be known as, "Kaiser" shank. I machined a mouthpiece adaptor out of brass so that I can use a standard shank mouthpiece. I don't want to ship this horn. Open to travel for a buyer. Horn is in northeastern Vermont. I've owned this horn since 1978 and I can't handle its size safely anymore. I'm taking up the euphonium!

Re: JW York & Sons BBb Tuba--$2700
The lurker status probably means that PMs won't work for you yet. Might want to offer an alternative form of contact?
That, or establish non-lurkerness to the moderators' satisfaction (have no idea what precisely that means)
But i might have friends to visit in your direction (least as far as Hanover/Whiteriver Jct.)
And i assume you have your Euphonium already lined up?
Ps... feel free to remove my response, if ya removified the original? But no worries.
I can talk to myself wit h the best of 'em! (and thanks for savin' me from myself if it were a mirage)

This tuba makes me slightly regret building a Holton 345… If I weren’t doing that I’d be on my way to Vermont. What a beautiful instrument.

That is a gorgeous York. I’m pretty sure it’s a model 730. Truly stunning. And yes, a giant mouthpiece shank.
Some old Yorks, Martins, and perhaps a King rotary valved CC

No shock this sold quickly.
I remember the early days of eBay, these rare 6/4 Yorks would fetch $10k or so.

Right you are!

If it’s tourist season, why can’t we shoot them?

I've never seen a factory York 3 valve front action six quarter C tuba. That's pretty impressive.
