How much does a YBB-103 weigh?

Post by Tubajug »

Could someone with a YBB-103 do me a favor and weigh it? Using your bathroom scale is fine, I'm not going for anything super scientific, I'm just curious how it compares to my King-Conn Franken Eb, which is about the same size, dimensionally.

My Eb is 16.4 pounds, according to my scale.

Thanks in advance!

For more chances at a quick useful reply from someone...

The weight of the YBB-104 and the YBB-105 should be nearly the same...within ounces, surely.

Thanks folks!

I'm nowhere near retirement age, but I see people posting about their "retirement horns" (small, light, easy to play and carry, etc.) and I keep thinking that's what I might already have with my King-Conn.

I knew it had to be lighter than a 104 or a 105. One of our local band directors brought a 105 to our Tuba Christmas one year. I mentioned that I'd expected it to be much lighter than it was. I then handed him my 103 and he knew what I meant.

Schlepp,
Yeah, it's a light one. For comparison purposes, my Jin Bao rotary baryton goes 8.3 lbs, so the 103 is very close to the baryton, and about half of my 345. FWIW, the 103 is more comfortable to hold standing than the baryton, just due to the configuration.
