1980s B&S/Weltklang Kaiser BBb-Tuba Model 104.

Post by TheBerlinerTuba »

For sale/Zum verkaufen in Berlin.
1980s B&S/Weltklang Kaiser BBb-Tuba Model 104.
In beautiful condition and plays like a dream. This is the B&S version of the famous Alexander 164 Kaiser but with far superior intonation. It was recently relacquered and the linkage has been upgraded with minibal inserts(original S-links retained). I have not seen a 104 in better condition than this horn.

110cm high
21mm ø inner bore
Bell 45cm ø
Price: 5500€ with gigbag

I would prefer pickup here in Berlin but due to the current world situation shipping is also no problem and I am happy to help at the buyers expense.

I've played one of these...

They offer sort of a blend of 6/4 (referring to USA-pre-1970's manufacturing big BB-flat tubas) type of sound,

with a blend of the somewhat "throaty" (also good - just different) "classic European continental kaiser" type of sound. :smilie8:

It's a bit like the "blend" of those two types of resonance qualities that attracts me to the Miraphone model 98.

IMO the Hagen 497 is the winner of that sound by a long shot. Also, the OP's horns is awesome.

I'm not about to risk being chided by Wade, again...
(allowing myself to be trolled, etc...)
:eyes:
=============================
- This restored kaiser tuba is beautiful.
- I've played one before.
- The one that I played was great.

BUMP!
