I own the obligatory large-bore/compensating euphonium, but I pulled this ancient YEP-321 out of the attic, straightened it out, and cleaned it up to use to play "Mars" (Holst) in pops concert in a couple of weeks. ("high C" is easier - for this doubler - with a .571" bore and a small-shank mouthpiece, than with a .590" bore and a large-shank mouthpiece).
Mrs. bloke needed to buy some bass clarinet and flute parts from Yamaha (shhhh !!! some of which fit Vito bass clarinets), so I decided to splurge and buy a bottom bow cap for this thing. UPS drove up with it, a few minutes ago...
Wow...!! When they are new (never crushed) and not 6/4-tuba-sized, they go on in less than twenty minutes.
(I like this thing...It's easy to play, and sounds plenty good-enough. I'll probably completely slick it out later. It's sure built better than the new ones.)
...I'm thinking they must not sell many of these...It took some considerable buffing, to get through the patina - on this part.

B.B.B.-style treble clef B♭
vs.
bass clef concert pitch...
meh...It just doesn't matter.
bloke "Chill, bloke; That D is pretty high, but it's really only a C."
