the composer of whom

- so many educational institutional composers - who wrongly berated him - have been so very jealous
- so many top-tier professional instrumentalists have loved performing his music
- so many tuba players - who couldn’t hack his concerto - claimed to dislike it
- his music has prompted so many countless millions (billions?) of people to smile

I only wish he were somehow forty years younger, and still composing movie scores.

I was unaware that he had stopped composing movie scores. I thought he was just doing movie scores for movies in which I am not interested.

Just read through his Wikipedia page... What an outrageously huge and productive career!

A few composers are geniuses, in that their music is beyond what most others are capable of imagining.

A very few composers are special sorts of geniuses (such as Mozart and Williams), whereby they are both capable of the above and ALSO capable of cranking it out at - well... - nearly the speed of sound.

bloke "Mozart just copied other composers, because contemporary composers of his - as well as composers who preceded him - wrote all the same notes in fairly similar patterns".
:eyes:

...yeah...I'm pretty much "down" on Williams' critics, and tend to be sarcastic - when referring to those critics.

There are untold millions of people around the globe whose first and/or most memorable positive experiences with orchestral music are with Mr. Williams' movie soundtracks. I tip my cap to him for composing works that bring joy to the masses, and wish him many happy returns of the day.
