… not to deny that some marches are indeed “galops” (only one L for this word, yes?)
SOME of the Fillmore marches (as examples) sound fine either at 120, 132, or even 144…
At the risk of self promotion, here’s another recording from that same Kansas/Fennell concert.
“His Honor” - a Fillmore March – sounds fine at this quick clip, but also “sells“ at slower tempos:
Fred – as can be heard – referred to this as a “barnburner“…

Re: Holst Suite 2 technical work-around suggestion
As many as I have played and conducted, I did forget about galops (yes, one L) The magic tempo for a circus or rodeo was around 212. Never thought of "His Honor" as a galop, but it certainly works. Heck, anything works when Frederick Fennell was conducting. One of my favorite concerts ever, maybe 25 years ago, was Dr. Fennell conducting the Dallas Wind Symphony in an entire evening of nothing but marches, in all styles and flavors.

Found a couple of tracks from "Screamers" on YT:
All of the tracks from the album are available on a playlist here.
An outstanding recording.

Long as we're at it, two of my favs. Maybe someone can help me with the preview graphic in the link. First is Presstissimo played like a real galop. 2nd is one of my favorite, but lesser known, circus marches.
