For Sale: Rudolf Meinl 5/4 (SOLD)
Up for sale, is my Rudolf Meinl 5/4 CC. It's a truly wonderful instrument but my playing needs, and bank account can't really justify keeping it. I'm happy to provide any pictures, and answer any questions about it. I'm asking $8500, but will happily entertain offers. I'm in Cincinnati, OH and will happily drive a good distance to make the exchange. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions.

Re: For Sale: Rudolf Meinl 5/4
Now that I've gotten acquainted with my Rudy 5/4 BBb, I sure would love to compare it against a Rudy 5/4 CC. That's a beautiful tuba, and I KNOW how it sounds! I'm not in the market... but happy for whoever buys this gem.

When looking at “new/unread posts” and seeing “Rudy 5/4 for sale” and @bort2.0 associated with the thread… well, I was thinking a new record was set.
Anyhow, good luck with the sale! These are quite nice tubas with a wonderful sound.

Re: For Sale: Rudolf Meinl 5/4
SEVERAL years back, I sold one of these - in equally good condition, with all the same features - for a thousand less. Adjusted for inflation, I’m certain that this current ask price is LOWER.
Of the choices of 3/4, 4/4, and 5/4, this largest one – at least for me – is over-and-above the easiest one to play in tune.

If I hadn't just got a sonorous resonant 188, I'd be interested in this, too. I bet you won't have any trouble.

I hadn't planned on it, but I could probably make it down early in the day on Thursday or Friday since I have gigs both nights. Saturday the 28th would be doable as well.

Re: For Sale: Rudolf Meinl 5/4 (Pending)
Congrats on the quick sale!
It's hard to capture the size of a Rudy 5/4 in a photo... It looks pretty normal on its own. But, it's quite large in all respects in person. This was Ted's Rudy, right? What a cool horn... I hope the new owner loves it and plays the heck out of it!
