New 4/4 BBb Tuba from Josef Lidl - Model Moldova

Post by Kontrabasstuba »

Hi, here is my Soundcheck of the new Josef Lidl BBb-Tuba Moldova. 100% handmade in Czech Republic 🇨🇿

There is a new 4/4 5 valve CC-Tuba at the Midwest in Chicago this year. Sounds great. Like a new Piggy 🥰

For Info's in the Video and in the description!

I totally agree with that assessment. However, I was able to play one of these at Lee Stofer's booth at SERTEC. And these are extremely nice horns. To me EXCELLENT intonation, sound and response! It packs a huge punch for it's size and is priced very reasonably (at least at the time, not sure what they are running now). To me kind of like what I imagine a compact Alexander would be.

I would also really love to hear him play the Lidl 715 (similar to a GR-51). That is a horn I would be extremely interested in... especially a CC version.

But that 684 BBb is AWESOME. Definitely not a soup can stuck to a garden hose.

What are the valve paddles like? Do they feel thick and solid, or thinner and lighter? In-between?

The Lidl 684 looks very similar to the Cerveny 684. FMB price is around 6000 Euros with a gig bag. Tuba Exchange has the Cerveny for about $700 more with a Jakob Winter case, so roughly the same.

The paddles are very fine. Valves as well. Super quick
