I have wondered about "demo" horns -- years ago a (French) horn player friend of mine realized his old Holton was pretty well worn out, and he went and bought one of the last two Farkas model horns that was available. In my mind, one of the last two means they were the ones nobody else wanted because of problems. And yup the thing was somewhat of a dog. (I am not a Holton horn fan at ALL, but he played them lifelong.) So -- anybody else leery of things that not been snapped up?

I bought a demo horn from Dillon Music. It is my Eastman and it plays great and I got it for a few thousand less than new. I guess it depends on the store. I have a lot of faith in Dillon Music and Matt checking them.
