Yes, but the question is, are you now living in the back seat of your car? :)
I'm really so happy you were able to make it work. I know it was a huge and sudden challenge.

I'm going to sand off the silver and cut it to D. I might add a 6th valve. And a beer tap.

Re: YamaYork at Dillon Music
Nope, no van life for me. I paid for it with stuff I already owned — but I had to sell it first. It was stressful to sell some of this stuff with no guarantee that someone wouldn't just buy the 826 from under me. (I sold a good car, for instance.) I spent a lot of money and a week of driving simply to test it out, so after all that and then selling off my stuff, the possibility of losing out on this outstanding tuba has kept me awake at night for the past three weeks.Rick Denney wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2023 3:58 pm Yes, but the question is, are you now living in the back seat of your car? :)

While at Dillon, I bought an Eastman 836 that I liked (just in case I was unable to get the money needed for the 826). Essentially, I got the 826 for free, because I was able to trade the Eastman back in. (It is for sale at a used price and is EXCELLENT, in case anyone here wants to take a look at it. Let me know and I'll let you know the SN so you can request it.)Anyway, I had to liquidate a lot of my belongings, but almost none of them were things I would miss.
Honestly, until this opportunity came up I had no idea just how much money I have been sitting on in unused stuff. It is amazing when you essentially have a "garage sale" for everything you own. In the end, I will still have enough left to put a new roof on my house in the Spring.

Re: YamaYork at Dillon Music
I love it when I can move things i DON'T need/want and use the proceeds to get something I DO need/want. Good you were able to make a move without crippling the financial scene. And can wait to sell the 345 at a better price.the elephant wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2023 4:17 pm Honestly, until this opportunity came up I had no idea just how much money I have been sitting on in unused stuff. I am a little surprised you are replacing the 345 since you have poured so much of your heart and soul into correcting its weaknesses. But, change can be inspirational. Completing the 345 must have been pretty satisfying, too.

Re: YamaYork at Dillon Music
Interesting just in general the number of people who are getting new or new-to-them tubas in the last few weeks. It's like different pepole all over the world coming up with the same invention at the same time.

Re: YamaYork at Dillon Music
This has happened to me twice recently and it’s mostly because I truly don’t need another tuba and have passed up good deals on a Boosey Imperial and a MW 45. Oh well.Dents Be Gone! wrote: ↑Tue Dec 05, 2023 2:28 pm I just found I will NOT be getting a tuba I’ve been watching. I blinked and it was scooped up by a friend!
Rightfully so, I suppose. He’s been watching it longer.

My Yamayork...
Is a 103 that got a small york eb bell.
It's swell!
(And so thinks my friend currently borrowing it. Come to think of it, he's had it for a while)

Re: YamaYork at Dillon Music
I’ve got an extra bell from a high pitch (28” tall) small York Eb.
Hmmm…
Some old Yorks, Martins, and perhaps a King rotary valved CC
