Looks to have a linkage conversion, but in nice shape.

Re: CL VA: Miraphone 186 BBb $3000
Whenever I see a patina like this I'm reminded of my USMC-retired friend who complained about musicians whose instruments were just disgusting if they didn't keep them shined up properly. He never could understand that some of us have unlacquered horns on purpose.
Re: CL VA: Miraphone 186 BBb $3000
Hey folks!
Some of you know me, and you know I sure don't need yet another horn, but that fact didn't stop me from buying this one. Over the years, I've played a couple of these older 186 models with the smaller bell, and they all played fantastically well. I was hoping this horn would play like those did, and it does! This was a good buy for me. A bonus is that, as you can see, there's not much remaining lacquer on the horn. I happen to like the look of raw brass, though I know that's not everyone's thing.
I'm posting because I'd like to know more about the linkage. The linkage on the horn works, and it works pretty well. How might I go about upgrading the linkage to a modern linkage (uniball?) from Miraphone? Can I simply order a new linkage with new stop arms from Miraphone and ask someone like Bloke to install it? Is the process really that simple or is it more complicated?
TIA for any help you can give me!
