Buddy Roger's at TMEA

Post by BuddyRogersMusic »

Sending all our Texas friends a heads up that we will be exhibiting at TMEA next week in San Antonio. I've got a truck full of Lidl tubas, oval baritones, and French horns, along with a lot of Schlipf mutes and mouthpieces from many manufacturers. We'll be located at booth #695, right next to the Cafe. Hope to see you there.

It would be good to hear any reviews of the Lidls. I’ve heard a few folks say good things, just looking for more data points.

The "Moldau" models have made the biggest stir lately, and we have ten examples in keys of BBb, CC, and F. I would love to hear your feedback as well because that can only make the products better. Lubos Hlavaty, the CEO of Lidl, made the trip as well and is excited to hear your thoughts.

I will not be at TMEA, but one suggestion to Lidl is to get as many demo videos by various players with high quality audio on Youtube as possible. I think it would go a long way towards people going "oh that sounds good. I should try one" rather than not knowing about it and buying what is popular or more readily available. The horns look amazing. But it would be great to hear them. there is that one video by @Kontrabasstuba I believe, playing the BBb version. It's a short video but it certainly makes me curious about the CC version and to hear more sound samples.

Edit:

My goal is to do just that, time allowing. We have the instruments and good recording gear now, I just need to get the recordings done, edited, and posted, while completing customer repairs. It’s always a task to keep all the balls in the air.

Getting feedback from players of all levels is necessary to further improve products and I’m grateful for all the input we’ve received so far.
