I almost drove to St. Louis to buy one of these that was listed for only $200. I think they're very "cute" little helicons. I like the wide, squat bell on them. I played an Eb helicon for many years before going back to BBb for the "oomf" it provided in the sound.

I think $1,000 is steep to pay for a horn that can barely play low A... And needs a valve rebuild. Cool little guy for sure, but the price is tough to swallow.
