WTB: 3/4 BBb tuba for Bort Jr -- Olds 99?

Post by bort2.0 »

Bort Jr. wants to play tuba. :smilie7:

There *might* be a school instrument for him to use, but I'm prepared to reject that quickly. :laugh:

Anyone selling a 3/4 BBb tuba suitable for a beginner?

Maybe something like an Olds 99? I had one of these like 30.years ago and obviously didn't keep it, but darn if it wouldn't be useful right about now, lol.

Requirements are:
* Nothing Chinese
* Doesn't have to be super pretty, but not destroyed either.
* Top-action valves a plus, but front-action is fine too.
* 4 valves is a plus, but not required.
* "Major brand" aka "easy to repair" (e.g., nothing so old or obscure that a simple repair would be difficult)

I don't particularly remember the model numbers of the smaller BBb horns, but any of the small Yamahas would work, as well as smaller Conn or King horns, or even the little MW-11 or comparable Miraphone lil' BBb's.

Thanks!
