FWIW, I've always considered all of that just "Los Angeles". I know it's really dozens of small cities next to each other. But to me, from up here, it's just "LA".
Haha, this coming from the guy who, just a year or two ago, learned that Oakland CA is near San Francisco... Not near Los Angeles.
