for band director types

Post by bloke »

I know NOTHING...but there SEEMS (??) to be some sort of Y-brand production lag/crisis...

...so school systems are coming to me and asking if I can supply JP instruments - to take the play of (apparently...??) unfillable Y orders.

I'm selling quite a few (regular "to low E-flat") JP bass clarinets.
They've always been "good", but obviously have been improved and bolstered.
> The peg support system has been strengthened.
> The necks are obviously now made of thicker (nickel-plated) brass than before.
> They've obviously done some acoustical improvements, because (OK...admittedly with Mrs. bloke's super-amazing/vintage/not-for-sale mouthpiece) these new ones sound AMAZING, and the high notes jump right out - EVEN THOUGH the upper octave vent is located (as with all plastic/economy bass clarinets) on the body.
> Rather than (as with Y) a thin molded-plastic case (as is known: those are easily cracked), the JP bass clarinet CASE is sturdy wood, and comes with a VERY nice thick cordura nylon case COVER as well. The "giveaway" (included) mouthpiece is ALSO "good".

There may NOT (??) be a better plastic low-E-flat bass clarinet on the market...

This is an OLD pic, and does NOT show the bolstered floor peg assembly:

This is the case for the bass clarinet but (as reported above) also NOW included is a tough cordura case COVER (not shown here).

Band directors no longer able to buy “Y” instruments? Egads! What WILL they do? Maybe someone should open a clinic to help them deal with the withdrawal symptoms! :teeth:
