I still remember hearing Mark Nelson play a piece on his recital on one of those (a blue one, too) and the valve noise was louder than the tuba noise.

Nope. For the price, and after reading Art Hovey's article, I had some interest just for fun. Contacted the seller same day, he let me know next morning that it was gone.
I could see using it when our little summer band plays on the pontoon as we cruise around the lake, or painting it up for a couple of upcoming Octoberfest gigs. I'll keep an eye out.
