Post by bisontuba »

Happy Tuba Tuesday. The Museum features a C. G. Conn, EEb Tuba, 3 piston, c. 1889.

Serial #: 28170

Bell Diameter: 14″

Bore Size: .595″

Height: 30″

Comments: Engraving on bell: “Made by/ C.G. Conn/ Elkhart Ind./ &/ Worcester Mass.” Beautiful ornately engraved leaves around text. One of the earliest “front action” instruments in the collection.

I have one just like that, #28526, which I believe is 1895.

"Plays" :laugh:

Actually though, it plays pretty decently. Just needs a proper repair to a very obvious shadetree repair to the 3rd valve slide. Maybe I can fix that up in time for TC...? :huh:
