Re: Quick Horn Rinse (QHR)
Meinlschmidt has a shower sprayer adapter to rinse out instruments. https://www.jm-gmbh.de/en/hydro-jet-m1/ https://www.jm-gmbh.de/wp-content/uploads/Hydro-Jet-M1-Flyer-EN.pdf I have one of these. Cleans well but the pressure is so high it always turns into a comedy bit https://tenor.com/view/slip ...

Re: Quick Horn Rinse (QHR)
Thank you all for the suggestions and discussion. I asked because I had stored my horn in a building that wasn't air conditioned in Florida for a couple of months in the summer without cleaning it first, and the sludge inside dried into flaky, powdery scales. I discovered this minutes before ...

Quick Horn Rinse (QHR)
I am looking for Quick Horn Rinse (QHR) new or used, or similar device to quickly flush the inside of my tubas with soap and water. Does anyone have one to sell? Alternately has anyone built something like that, and willing to share information on how I can put one together myself? Thank you!

@bloke Sorry, I couldn't tell you for a fact. Based on the bell size, I would guess yes.

Fused Sousaphone Bits
I'm not sure this is the right forum (maybe Repairs/Modifications?) but anyway, I have 2 sousaphone bits that are stuck together and wondering if anyone can suggest gentle methods for separating them? I now know why I should have taken them apart and cleaned them before storage;please let my error ...

Re: WTB: Sousaphone Case
I have some not-so-structurally-sound ones that you can have, but I won't ship. A couple are MTS - whereby "students" tore the wheels off, and concrete-polished triangular holes in the corners which were - then - "wheel-free". :eyes: They can be fixed - I suppose, but not by me. That is very ...

Re: WTB: Sousaphone Case
An ugly old school case would be fine as long as it is structurally sound. Thank you! Did you nab that Eb in Rochester? Where are ya located? I'm in touch with the seller. I live in Orlando, trying to figure out if or how to make a deal. Thank you for making the connection, I really do appreciate ...

Re: Central Florida Community Arts (CFCArts) Symphony Orchestra wants YOU!
Well...that has all the subtlety of a sledgehammer to the back of the head. Kind of Manheim Steamroller with people. I can see a few pieces with this in a program and we've done that, but I kept watching waiting for pieces that weren't head bangers. I couldn't imagine as a tuba player finding it ...

Re: Central Florida Community Arts (CFCArts) Symphony Orchestra wants YOU!
Apologies to all for any unintended offense by my careless choice of words, and thank you for the advice. Some have questioned how a group named as a "Symphonic Orchestra" can have more than one tuba, but "Concert Band" isn't accurate either because of the string sections. Thank you for your good ...

Re: Central Florida Community Arts (CFCArts) Symphony Orchestra wants YOU!
It's a hybrid, it is formally titled a Symphony Orchestra but the brass sections are staffed like a concert band.

Central Florida Community Arts (CFCArts) Symphony Orchestra wants YOU!
Central Florida Community Arts (CFCArts) Symphony Orchestra is looking for tuba players. Although labeled as a Orchestra, we have a large (and strong!) brass section and are closer to a massed Orchestra and Concert Band. Minimum age is 18, players must provide own instrument, with low annual dues ...
