ITEC programs
The Warren Deck Masterclass thread morphed into talking about the 1995 ITEC. I long ago lost my program from that conference. I searched on the Internet, and found this treasure trove of past ITEC programs and shared the 1995 ITEC program in that thread. Thought some of y’all would like to see these ...

Re: Warren Deck Masterclass last month video
That was a great conference. The pinnacle highlight for me was the Roger Bobo recital in Pick- Staiger Hall. Absolutely superb. An enthralling couple of hours and I’m not a fan of tuba recitals. What an artist. And then the dinner buffet afterwards and being able to meet and talk with him. I’m not s ...

Re: Warren Deck Masterclass last month video
I attended the 1995 ITEC at Northwestern. Mr. Jacobs did a 2 1/2 hour master class there. (At the end, it was cool to see him surprised by a bunch of family, friends, and colleagues, including the then-mayor of Chicago, Richard M Dailey, who declared that day Arnold Jacobs day in Chicago). One of ...

Re: The Tuba Christmas Website got a Facelift
I am already missing the list them all by date option. Yes, and I don't seem to see dates in the map detail pop-up when you click on a location. Am I missing something? I used my phone and looked at the one for Nashville, Tennessee, which is the one near my hometown. At least for Nashville, when ...

Re: Tchaikovsky that probably only some of you are aware.
Thanks for this, Bloke. Having now heard this gem of a piece, I don’t understand why it’s not played more. I listened to a few of the examples of the last movement on YouTube, and I think my favorite was
Michael Tilson Thomas and the Los Angeles Philharmonic.

Re: 20+ Tuba & Euphonium Jobs ELIMINATED
I wondered about the reason for that amount of cuts, especially since a mentor and friend of mine was a long-time Commander of one of the affected bands, and I had been following his social media posts hoping there would be a last-minute reprieve. A little Googling found this Facebook post abstract ...

I removed my comment. My brain glossed over the 2023 part. I was thinking only a few days and not over a year.

Re: Army workshop appreciation thread
…The highlights for me were the Latin Power Quartet, the Interservice Euphonium Choir conducted by Brian Bowman, and seeing my son play in Carol Jantsch's master class. However, I don't see these on their YouTube channel… They posted this on their Facebook page: “Unfortunately because of the venue c ...

Re: Floyd's Vaughan Williams Cadenza
His website is working fine on my phone. This is a link to the page with the cadenza image you referenced, and I attached the image. There is an embedded mp3 on the website, but I couldn’t figure out how to copy it here, at least on my phone. https://www.floydcooley.com/?page_id=554 IMG_0907.jpeg

Re: Tuba Christmas Chicago
In my experience, those people are there to get noticed, and for that purpose only. Not musicianship, time, intonation, balance, etc. If one is playing that loudly, he/she knows he/she is doing it. It’s usually the more immature of the high school and college kids there, probably the same ones who b ...

Re: What do you want from a conference?
Unc' pointed out something that I meant to bring up: OVERBOOKING of performers'/teachers' presentations... There only needs to be ONE event going on at any given time. That's ENOUGH people to present what they have to offer. A three-ring circus is not necessary. Kind of piggybacking off the over ...
