Re: Laskey 30G, Am Shank - for sale $125

I am interested in the laskey 30G. I have only recently registered on this forum so I can't send PMs yet. Please send me a message so we can further discuss. I don't see a way to send you a message on my end. My email address is in the original post, feel free to shoot me an email. Pauvog90(at)att ...

Re: brass instrument mouthpiece pressure training devices

I tried one once. I think it is a gimmick, maybe it helped someone, but for me it was kind of a inefficient way of seeking more efficiency.

Re: one of my teachers confirmed a suspicion of mine, and it works.

I remember you (I think, maybe someone else) posting something like this maybe a year or so ago (different circumstance). I tried it for a last minute quintet gig this spring. The group was used to a larger instrument (and most the rep leaned that way) so I used my CC, but I worked up the hard parts ...

Re: Beginner advice

Really could use a teacher, and really need to just play a lot at this point. I wouldn't worry about the tuner until you can play at least an octave or so with a decent sound. Get a Rubanks elementary and intermediate book to get started and just play. I'd only use a tuner if you need it to see if ...

Re: Mouthpiece for Rudy 3/4 CC

I imagine a Sellmansberger Symphony would be a great choice. Plus you get your pick of rim profile.

Helene - everyone okay?

Hey friends,

I hope everyone is doing okay. We're fine in Coastal Georgia, just no power (might be out a few days). Hope everyone else fared well.

Also, I have a tremendous amount of respect for you and what you do. I completely trust any decisions you make on tuba / equipment related to rep.

Re: Laziness Guilt

Healthy boundaries can totally be hard. I don't see any reason for feeling guilty based on what you have written. I think you are used to a pattern related to something that you are passionate about. That can feel funny, and while your feelings may be valid, they are likely a result of "new" and ...

I thought some were in Smart Music, but admittedly I'm haven't looked into that platform in ...

Re: Wick mouthpieces

I played a Wick 5 once in Australia on a school band trip (school rented horns for us). I remember it being smaller, but not "bad" at all. I bet it makes a great fit on the N. Star. Glad that is working out! I have played a Wick tuba mouthpiece in about 15 years, but never hated their products. Just ...

Re: I'VE HAD IT!!!

You have way more experience than me, but if the MRP/Neptune aren't it, maybe the new Lind tubas? I seem to remember something about a larger CC option (not sure if it is a viable option, I haven't played it yet, just a thought).
