If I didn't already have a really good USA made vintage valve trombone, I would probably be reacting to the King with the classic 'sour grapes' attitude; in other words "the valves are probably shot". :laugh:

Seriously, if that instrument is still viable, the band director who surplussed that thing is really short-sighted/narrow-minded. Of course, it doesn't have four valves, so... :teeth:

The valve trombone looks great. It's not the BD's fault. It's the kids who don't want to play it. Who could blame them? They play slide trombone!...

UPDATE: The case is marked "Mariachi"! Well, if they have a Mariachi program, it should get some use. He could cut it to C for the trumpeters. He IS a dummy!...
